Rick Dior
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Rick Dior began his professional music career at the age of thirteen, freelancing in and around the metropolitan area in various small ensembles, orchestras, and theater productions. He is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with timpanist Fred Hinger and jazz composer Bob Mintzer. He also studied extensively with famed jazz drummer Joe Morello.
Rick has performed as a percussionist with a variety of superb artists in many musical genres including James Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Al Jarreau, Roberta Flack, Martina McBride, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Linda Rondstadt, Glen Campbell, Bobby McFerrin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Randy Newman, and Marvin Hamlisch. He has added his drum set talents to performances with many great jazz artists including Marvin Stamm, Bill Watrous, Rich Perry, Harold Danko, Clark Terry, Red Rodney, Chris Potter, Lionel Hampton, and Russell Malone. Rick also has an extensive orchestral percussion background and has performed as principal percussionist, section percussionist and timpanist with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte Ballet, and Opera Carolina since 1990.
As a first-call theater percussionist and drummer in Charlotte, NC, Rick has performed in dozens of Broadway show tours. Shows include Chorus Line, Jesus Christ Superstar, Wicked, The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Spamalot, Hairspray, South Pacific, West Side Story, 9 to 5, Mary Poppins, Bring It On, Newsies, and Beautiful.
His recording credits are extensive and include CD releases, movie soundtracks, and commercial radio/television spots. As an engineer and producer, Rick has been involved in hundreds of recordings. These include recording projects with artists such as Branford Marsalis, Delfeayo Marsalis, Ellis Marsalis, Ed Thigpen, Harry Connick Jr., Micheal Spiro, Joey Calderazzo, Michael Carvin, and Jimmy Cobb.
As a composer, Rick has written many compositions for percussion ensemble, orchestras, and jazz ensembles. In 2018, Rick was commissioned to orchestrate his composition Science Fiction for a tour of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. His compositions are published by Tapspace.
Rick is also a very active educator and has served as Lecturer of Percussion at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte since 2001. He also maintains a busy private and online teaching studio. His students have gone on to attend many prestigious music institutions such as The Julliard School of Music, The Manhattan School of Music, The Cincinnati Conservatory, The Oberlin School of Music, The Eastman School of Music, North Texas State University, and The University of Miami. Many of these former students are active as professional musicians and teachers.
Irving Osuna
Irving Osuna is a drum educator from Los Angeles and the founder of Drumming Basics 101, an online platform dedicated to helping drummers build strong fundamentals and musical confidence. With over 10 years of teaching experience in Los Angeles, Irving has worked with students of all ages, focusing on rhythm reading, coordination, and practical drum set application.
He began creating short, visually driven drum lessons online to simplify complex patterns and make structured learning more accessible. His color coded teaching approach gained rapid traction across multiple platforms, attracting a global audience of drummers seeking clarity, control, and real progress behind the kit.
Through daily educational content, structured learning systems, and coaching programs, Irving continues to guide drummers toward building confidence in reading drum notation, developing coordination, and achieving long term musical growth.
Shawn Kelley
For more than 30 years, Shawn Kelley has been based in Southeast Asia, where he has developed and maintained a reputation as a highly versatile and virtuosic drummer, able to span the entire dynamic spectrum of jazz, from the most sensitive nuance to the most driving and explosive of drum solos. He has toured, recorded, and performed with a diverse range of incredible artists such as Ernie Watts, Ulf Wakenius, James Moody, Toots Thielemans, Roberta Gambarini, Tony Lakatos, Carmen Bradford, Jeremy Monteiro, Eldee Young, Eric Marienthal, Leroy Jones, Nancy Kelly, and Vanessa Rubin, to name a few.
Shawn was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, and is a graduate of The City College of New York, where he studied under the tutelage of Ron Carter, John Lewis, and Sonny Igoe. After years of playing in the New York jazz scene, Shawn relocated to the warmer climates of Asia, where his love and command of all kinds of music have led him to work with a huge range of artists, encompassing a wide variety of styles.

I’ve been playing drums since I was six years old and performing professionally since I was 14. Over the years, I’ve played everything from hair metal in its heyday to hard rock, funk, punk, and now the soft-rock revival. Today, I hold down the groove for Las Vegas favorites Bear Supply, bringing the sounds of AM Gold to audiences in Vegas and beyond.
No matter the style, I believe great drumming comes down to feel, consistency, and serving the song. After a lifetime behind the kit, I also know how important it is to have gear I can trust every time I play.
That’s why I use Spectrum Percussion 7A and 2B Multi-Tone Hickory sticks. They give me the feel and touch I need to recreate that warm, expressive ’70s drum magic that defines so much of Bear Supply’s sound, while also giving me the flexibility to instantly switch to a traditional stick for heavier songs, louder crashes, and more precise ride and hi-hat patterns.
I had been dreaming about a stick like this for years. It’s essentially two tools in one, without having to stop and change sticks between songs or sections. Noel Okimoto
Born and raised in Honolulu, Noel Okimoto has been playing professionally since the age of ten. Noel's primary instrument is the drum set, but is also an accomplished orchestral percussionist, vibraphonist, composer and clinician. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Percussion from the University of Hawaii.
Noel has played in Hawaii, the mainland USA, and internationally with Freddie Hubbard, The Woody Herman Orchestra, Stan Getz, Bobby Hutcherson, Richie Cole, Bill Watrous, Ernie Watts, Bud Shank, Barney Kessel, Lew Tabackin, Sadao Watanabe, Wynton Marsalis, Ronnie Cuber, Makoto Ozone, Jeff Richman, Larry Coryell, Nestor Torres, Gene Harris, Eddie Henderson, Stanley Jordan, Mike Mainieri Take 6, David Benoit, Henry Mancini, Nelson Riddle, Steve Allen, Natalie Cole, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Bob Hope, Rosemary Clooney, Patti Page, Dionne Warwick, and Jake Shimabukuro, among others. He was also a member of the Gabe Baltazar Group for five years.
Noel recently retired from the historic Royal Hawaiian Band, after 31 years as the band’s percussion section leader. Okimoto recorded an award- winning jazz CD in 2004, entitled 'Ohana, that received a 4-Star review in Downbeat magazine and won “Jazz Album Of The Year” at Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. Noel collaborated with Taiko Master Kenny Endo and bassist Dean Taba to record an acclaimed world music project entitled “Rhythm Summit”.
Currently Noel is a member of the veteran local jazz group the Honolulu Jazz Quartet, which won the Na Hoku Hanohano award for “Jazz Album Of The Year” in 2023. He also plays the vibraphone with the Pacific Harp Project lead by harpist Megan Bledsoe Ward, and plays on both of the groups recordings. Their first self titled release won the Na Hoku Hanohano award for “Instrumental Album of The Year”. Their current release is titled, “Play”. Noel and his wife Liane have been hosting a monthly jazz performance at the Musicians’ Association Of Hawaii Studio 909 called “Ohana Jazz Night” on the last Thursday of the month since October 2022. In 2025 Noel released his second solo recording titled “Hō`ihi” which means respect and reverence in Hawaiian. Noel’s music is available on all streaming platforms.
